Android-Toast
Toast is a little pop-up notice that we utilize to alert users about an action we took within our app. The Toast will briefly display the message before it automatically disappears after a timeout.
Now write the code under the activity_main.xml.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<androidx.constraintlayout.widget.ConstraintLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context=".MainActivity">
<Button
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="Show Toast"
android:id="@+id/toast_btn"
android:onClick="onClick"
app:layout_constraintBottom_toBottomOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintEnd_toEndOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintStart_toStartOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintTop_toTopOf="parent" />
</androidx.constraintlayout.widget.ConstraintLayout>
In the MainActivity.java create an alert that is created programmatically.
package com.example.alertdialog;
import androidx.appcompat.app.AppCompatActivity;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.widget.Toast;
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
}
public void onClick(View view) {
Toast.makeText(MainActivity.this, "You Clicked on Button..", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
}
}
